Travel vaccinations

If you are planning on traveling outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against serious infectious diseases that can be found in other parts of the world.

Please note that more than one vaccination may be required before you travel. Please allow 6-8 weeks before travel for vaccinations. This timeline allows your body to develop immunity, especially considering that some vaccines involve multiple doses spread over several weeks or months.

At Grand Drive GP surgery, we administer travel vaccinations to both adults and children:

The following travel vaccines are available for free on the NHS:

  • Polio (administered as part of a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Cholera

The following travel vaccines are available for a fee:

  • Yellow fever £70
  • Meningitis £65
  • Rabies £70
  • Hepatitis B £50

If you are unsure about which vaccinations, you need for your travel. Please refer to the following resources for more information:

 NaTHNaC – Country List (travelhealthpro.org.uk)

 Destinations – Fit for Travel

Be aware that certain countries may demand proof of vaccination upon entry or exit. For instance, documentation of polio and yellow fever vaccination must be presented on an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP).

If you would like to be vaccinated at Grand Drive Surgery, please complete our travel vaccine form below. In this form, please include any previous vaccinations received and the vaccinations you require for your trip.
