Consistent with the National Health Services long-term vision to make personalised care business as usual, Grand Drive Surgery has implemented Health and Wellbeing Coaching as part of its practice to support patients with their overall health and wellbeing.
Health and Wellbeing Coaching helps people to: (i) become more self-aware about their health, (ii) make lasting behaviour changes and (iii) show up to life as the healthiest version of themselves. You will always be the expert on your own life and what works best for you.

Our Health & Wellbeing Coaches are here to support you

Our H&W Coaches will guide you through a beautiful process so that you can clearly see what health and wellbeing means to you and what makes your health really important. This includes giving you tools to be more present in the moment and handle stressful situations better.

In addition to supporting you with making positive behaviour changes to improve your overall health and wellbeing, these are just some of the areas our H&W Coaches can help you with: weight management, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, mental health (stress as well), changing behaviours related to substance use (depending on circumstances) and chronic conditions.

  • create a safe and trusted environment within which you can partner together to maximise your overall health and wellbeing
  • guide you through the Health and Wellbeing Coaching process in a structured, fun and exciting way
  • utilise a variety of coaching skills with empathy and kindness in order to support behaviour change
  • take time to listen to your concerns and ask meaningful questions to help motivate you
  • help you to identify any obstacles and create strategies for forward movement
  • provide, if required, additional resources for making healthy behavioural changes

“Following a consultation with my GP about arthritic knees, she recommended that I try H&W Coaching as a way of focusing on the important things in my life. In particular, this was about finding positivity to make changes to my daily routine to improve my long-term health outcomes. Having dieted many times over the years and had sessions with a nutritionist and physiotherapist, I wasn’t expecting much more than being told what I should do and then being rigidly monitored. In the past, this approach had done little other than demotivate me.

I was apprehensive before my first session but my H&W Coach made me feel very comfortable, clearly explaining what H&W Coaching was all about, our respective roles and potential time frames. From the beginning, the focus was on contentment; finding joy and happiness in my life, rather than solely on diets and exercise. I found it all very inspiring. I’ve loved learning about mindful awareness and the areas that contribute to this. I feel I’ve come on a journey and my H&W Coach has guided me through engaging activities, a focus on planning for the future, setting milestones with an ultimate goal and truly 2-way conversations. There has been absolutely no preaching but a slow journey towards a realisation of my self-worth and that I can achieve with a little support on my road to mindful awareness.”

Book an introductory session

You have decided that your health is your most precious asset and you are now ready to invest for the long term.
Book a face-to-face introductory session with one of our H&W Coaches (Sally Cregeen or Faiz Khaki) by speaking to your GP.
In this introductory session, you and your H&W Coach will explore your current health situation and you can tell them how you would like things to be different in your life.
Your H&W Coach will then give you a brief overview as to how they can help you, cover the structure of the coaching relationship and introduce the building blocks required for successful behaviour change.
